About the Author
Andreu Solà-Martín completed his PhD in 2005 in the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford, United Kingdom. Until 2015, Dr. Solà-Martín was an associate research fellow in the Department of Peace Studies. He worked as a lecturer in international politics at the University of Manchester and was a teaching fellow in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Birmingham. Andreu convenes seminars on conflict analysis at the Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations, Ramon Llull University, Barcelona. In addition, he works as a lecturer on conflict management and resolution at the Open University of Catalonia, Spain. Since 2006, Andreu has participated as an observer and core team member in several election observation missions, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, but also in eastern Europe, central Asia, the Caucasus, and Latin America. He has published works on the peace process in Western Sahara and peace-building in West Africa.
